Only qualified, authorized persons repair electrical devices or equipment; electrical equipment is never tampered with

Ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) protect all 120-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20-amp receptacle outlets on site that are not part of the permanent wiring (or an assured equipment grounding conductor program)

Inspect cords and tools daily; remove damaged cords from service; no flat cords, no cords through doorways/water without protection; extension cords must be heavy-duty (hard or extra-hard usage)

De-energize and lock/tag circuits and equipment before repair, oiling/greasing, or maintenance; the main switch is placed in the OFF position when setting up jobs or leaving machines idle; switch box and panel covers kept closed

Overhead power lines: maintain at least 10 ft of clearance (more above 50 kV); call the utility to de-energize/insulate lines when work must be closer; underground — call JULIE/811 before digging
