17 Confined Spaces

Safety Manual · 2026 Edition · Rev 2.0 · Effective August 2026 · Owner DF

29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA

Confined spaces on our projects may include manholes, vaults, pits, crawl spaces with limited entry, tanks, and sewers. Before any employee enters a confined space, a competent person identifies and evaluates the space. Permit-required confined spaces (hazardous atmosphere, engulfment, entrapment, or other serious hazard) require a written permit program: atmospheric testing, ventilation, attendant, rescue plan, and entry permit. 3F Construction's default policy is that employees do not enter permit-required confined spaces unless the full permit program is implemented; otherwise the work is assigned to a qualified subcontractor with its own compliant program, coordinated with 3F.
